The first Friday of the 2020 high school football season has arrived and the game of the week features two teams that haven’t met in a decade.

The Bixby Spartans are set to host Union Friday night. The last time the two teams met was in 2011 so regardless of previous meetings, these will be all new teams facing off.

The Spartans haven’t lost a game since 2018, and return experience at quarterback in Mason Williams and talent at the skill positions with Braylin Pressley.

The Union team is young in some key positions, but coach Kirk Fridrich is optimistic that they’ll get better quickly.

Players and coaches are all masked, the stadium not nearly at full capacity, but it’s still football.
