Coach Behrens will be entering his 18th season as Head 9th Grade Football Coach for the Bixby Spartans.

Before coming to Bixby, Coach Behrens spent six seasons as an assistant football coach in Broken Arrow at the 8th grade level. During Behrens time at B.A., he served as Offensive Line Coach, Defensive Line Coach, Wide Receivers Coach, Secondary Coach, and Special Teams Coordinator. Coach Behrens has also coached in Bixby as an 8th grade assistant coach and 8th grade head coach.

Prior to entering the coaching profession, Coach Behrens served in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Infantry at Kaneohe Bay, HI and Camp Lejeune, NC, as well as a Section Leader and Platoon Sergeant for an Anti-Tank Battalion in Broken Arrow, OK.

Coach Behrens holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Northeastern State University. Before college, he attended Mannford High School in Mannford, OK where he lettered in football, wrestling, and baseball.

Coach Behrens is also the Varsity Head Boys Track Coach and teaches Oklahoma History and US Government at the 9th Grade Center.

Coach Behrens is married to Jennifer and has two kids: Blake, 23, and Emma, 16. Blake, a former Bixby Spartan Football player, is now home after serving the last 5 years in the United State Marine Corps. Emma is a junior at Bixby High School.
